Some dogs need more help, time, and caring while at the groomers than the typical. Whether they have an unknown past, or they are getting on in their years, or they simply are terrified of everything new. We are here to help you and your pet learn to trust us and in turn the grooming process.
Grooming an Elderly Dog
We all age, and its always especially hard when we see it happening in our pups. As much as we want to limit the stress on our old pups, they still require regular grooming and nail maintenance.
We will work out a custom grooming package for your senior pups. Some ways we work with their special needs.
They may need 2 groomers in order to keep them safe and secure for the groom
We may split the groom into bath and dry and groom the next day
We will minimize use of loud equipment
Allowing them rest as often as needed
Book them at a slower part of the day
Pretty much we will do whatever is needed to keep them safe, calm and comfortable as possible.

Please note, Elderly dogs need to have their nails maintained regularly, at least once a month. When nails are not maintained it cause incredibly painful situations where every step can be painful. This is even more important on seniors where walking can already be more difficult.

Grooming an Anxious or Aggressive Dog
Anxiety is common in many breeds of dogs. Especially puppies who came home over covid. They did not get the socialization and experiences that other dogs do. We want to work with you and your pup to get them used to grooming in a slow methodical process. Much like we do with the Puppy Training Package.
Depending on the serverity of the aniety in your pup we can either make accommodations to a normal grooming session. Or if it is a severe case we can do a once a week plan to slowly get the used to each part of the process. We also work in close connection with Emma from Sport Utility Dogs to create an anxiety to grooming training program specifically for your dog. ( Extra training costs would be involved)

Grooming Dogs with Medical Concerns.
Dogs with medical concerns are taken on a case by case basis. We will determine if we believe it is safe for us to groom your pet or if they need a veterinary to preform the groom. Any health issues such as heart problems, lung problems, trachea issues, please tell us upon booking so we can have all the issues known to us. We may ask for a vet to declare them as safe to groom.
A Fresh or healing injury
Please let us know if your pet is injured, needs surgery, has recently had a surgery. We need to know about any issues with your dog in order to properly groom them. If they have had a surgery recently we will require a vets clearance that they are safe to be bathed and groomed.
With an injury that is healing please speak to your vet first before booking to ensure they feel it is safe to proceed.
